We present to you the cultural and artistic society “Široka Kula”. Established in the festive atmosphere of December 2013, this society exudes life through a diverse range of artistic expressions.
We emphasize that the society boasts more than 50 dedicated members, each committed to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of the Lika region. Their passion and love for cultural heritage have manifested in various sections within the society. There is an active adult folk dance group, a children’s folk dance group, a drama section, and an ethnic workshop. In addition, they are planning to launch a choir and a literary group, which attests to their dedication to various forms of artistic expression.
HKUD “Široka Kula” proudly revitalizes and nurtures the rich attire, dances, songs, and customs not only of the Lika region but also of various parts of the Republic of Croatia. Their dedication is also evident in their pursuit of original parts of the Lika traditional costume and high-quality reconstructions. In order to present themselves in the best light, the members of the cultural and artistic society have decided to create work and summer costumes with their own hands, thus creating a unique blend of tradition and innovation.
You have the opportunity to experience the magic of tradition in a unique way! We invite you to a folk event that will take place as part of the Summer Cultural Heritage festivities. Members of HKUD “Široka Kula” will perform on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in the morning session at 10:00 AM at Entrance 1 of the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
Allow HKUD “Široka Kula” to take you through the whirlwind of authentic dances while the sounds of traditional instruments transport you through a rich history.
In addition to performances and cultural heritage, a diverse gastronomic offer will be available to you, organized by the Plitvice Lakes Tourist Board. Refresh yourself and enjoy the flavors of various local products in a unique way.
